Allowing people the space to fail gracefully is an vitally important part of leadership. Because in the long run failure to reach a desired goal is not the problem…not being able to discern the real problem and making the necessary adjustments is what stops us from real personal growth.
If we want to allow our leaders to grow, we have to let them fail. You aren’t a leader today because everything went perfect (if so, you are a rare leader indeed). Things don’t always go as planned, and your next generation leaders need to learn that lesson as well. (via agile ministry)
Looking back on my almost 15 years of experience in deferent leaderships roles in the Church I’ve learned as much from my failure as from my so called successes.
